AWStats is an open source, data logging file parser and analyzer, suitable for analyzing web server, streaming server, mail server and ftp server log files, and displaying the analysis results in a graphical manner. It is written in Perl and works either from the command line or as a Common Gateway Interface script.

AWStats works with the major webserver tools Apache_Software_Foundation log files (NCSA combined/XLF/ELF log format or common/CLF log format), WebStar, IIS (W3C log format) and a lot of other web, proxy, wap, streaming servers, mail servers and some ftp servers. Developers can contribute to the AWStats project by using the Source Forge website. It is a very popular server administration tool, included in most Linux distributions. AWStats is licensed under the GNU GPL.
