Antec |
Antec is an United States manufacturer of computer components.
The company was founded in 1986 in Fremont, California, and is best known for its range of IBM PC compatible cases and Power supply, which are reputedly quieter in operation (although higher in price) than competitors products.
=Cases=
Antec is known amongst Do it yourself computer builders for providing quality computer cases that are easy to work on. Some case models are the Lifestyle Series, Lanboy, the newer Super Lanboy, Performance One, Performance Plus and Solution Series.
*Lifestyle cases include the small footprint cases such as the cubes as well as the popular Sonata case.
*Lanboy cases are designed to be portable gaming machines. They are made of aluminum and have blue Light-emitting diodes inside the power supply.
*Performance One cases are also made of aluminum and are designed for performance. Performance Plus is the same model as Performance One except with a TruePower power supply.
*Solution Series is Antec s budget cases. They do not include the cooling or other features of the higher models. Models can come with or without a power supply.
=Power supplies=
Antec is also a manufacturer of power supplies as well as cases. Antec s power supply models include the Truepower, Trueblue, and Neopower (480w only). While some power supplies are of good quality, others have a reputation for using capacitor plague, which can lead to early failure.
