Birmingham Post |
For the former Birmingham, Alabama, Alabama newspaper, see Birmingham Post-Herald.
The Birmingham Post newspaper was originally started under the name Daily Post in Birmingham, England in 1857 by John Frederick Feeney. It is the largest selling broadsheet in the West Midlands region, though it faces little if any competition in this category.
The 70 foot high Post and Mail office tower block, designed by John Madin, was opened in 1960 to accommodate the Post and Birmingham Evening Mail newspapers, but is currently being demolished. The original design saw the concrete building surrounded by trees and grass but this was never implemented.
After changing hands many times, the once great newspaper is now part of the Trinity Mirror group.
