Business Objects is a company that creates and markets business performance management, business intelligence and enterprise reporting applications that analyze internal and external data. The company seeks to help clients improve efficiency, align company strategies, strengthen profitable relationships, and enhance products and services.
In December 2003, Business Objects acquired rival business intelligence company Crystal Decisions. Business Objects has headquarters in France, with additional main offices in San Jose, California and Vancouver, B.C., Canada. The company employs nearly 4,000 people. Its president and founder is Bernard Liautaud and its CEO is former Symantec president John Schwarz. Stock in Business Objects is publicly traded on the NASDAQ market under the symbol BOBJ.
