CARIS, an abbreviation of Computer Aided Resource Information System, is a company based in Fredericton, New Brunswick which produces Geographic Information System and hydrographic survey data processing software. It was founded in 1979 as a spin-off from the University of New Brunswick and initially focused on terrestrial applications in direct competition with companies such as ESRI and Intergraph but now focuses on specific markets. It sells ping-to-chart applications to the hydrographic industry. Other important markets include cadastral and geological GIS systems, although a range of applications are produced by CARIS including a Web Map Server.

CARIS is a member of the Open Geospatial Consortium and is a proponent of interoperability between different GIS systems.
