Chase Play

Chase Play is a Timeshifting facility of DVD-RAM DVD recorders and many Personal video recorders.

It allows a user to simultaneously watch, stop or pause live television whilst continuing to record a programme to its conclusion.

Imagine watching television when all of a sudden the telephone rings. Initiating Chase Play means that the user no longer has to wait until the show is over before finding out what they have missed. When returning from the interruption, Chase Play allows the user to start viewing the programme from precisely where they left off. The recording device will continue to capture the programme in real time until instructed to stop.
