In Internet Slang, a DFU, or Dumb Fucking User, is an acronym used by IT personnel to describe errors related to misuse or poor understanding of computer basic concepts by the end-user. It can be used in expressions such as It must be a DFU error , and is also conveniently used to mock openly the end-user if another fellow IT support staff member is present on the premises ( Sir/Madam, this is a very bad case of DFU error you have now ).

The acronym DFU may be used by folks like the BOFH.
