DQN

DQN ( dokyun ) is a Japanese idiom, typically found in use on 2channel ( 2ch for short) and english 2ch-style discussion boards, such as [http://www.4-ch.net 4-ch].

The term DQN is used as a form of insult or slander on 2ch, much like the use of Faggot in American culture. The association with being called DQN is that, in short, you are acting stupidly, rudely, immorally, or are generally elitist (even though you have no position of power). The word dokyun was originally used in a notorious website as discriminating against academic background inspired by TV program Mokugeki Dokyun in which appear minority married couples, etc.

It should also be noted that the users of 2ch look down upon anyone who uses terms and idioms from there in another location, such as a forced-registration forum. However, they are fine with uses of their terms in other 2ch-style websites, Japanese or not, which are designed simply and allow anonymous posts.
