David Firth is a British internet star from Doncaster known for his animation and music. He made his first cartoon in 1999 called Jim s Story , of which there were 5 episodes. Later, he rewrote the cartoon, updating the characters and animations and retitled it New Jim Cartoon . He currently focuses mainly on Macromedia_Flash cartoons, including Salad Fingers , which the artist is probably most well known for. Firth is also known for composing Intelligent Dance Music under the name, Locust Toybox.

Salad Fingers - A series of 6 movies about a green man who is stimulated by rusty objects, metal jail-cell bars and nettles. The series is known as one of the more notable Flash series created by Firth, and are noted for being especially unsettling.
A Black And White Cartoon About Roof Tiling and its prequel, A Black And White Cartoon About Berries - Both movies are about a man named Jonathan and his mental health problems. They are done in a paper Flash style; a term derived from Firth s process of Flash animating by drawing almost all of the artwork on paper, scanning them onto his computer, and tweening them.
Burnt Face Man - A comedy series of 5 episodes (and a fake Trailer (movie) ) about a superhero with a badly Burn (injury) face.
Panathinaikos Bear - An early series of 11 movies with random scenes featuring Panathinaikos Bear and an unusual green creature named Meep.
Spoilsbury Toast Boy - Two movies (including one prequel) about a boy and his encounters with talking beetles .

Sock (Flash cartoons) - A series of odd, dreamlike cartoons that are sometimes comical and sometimes incredibly creepy. They are based on David Firth s dreams, and have no continuity whatsoever. Notably, Firth makes absolutely no effort to clear confusing things up, making the cartoons rather enigmatic. The first is titled Sock Episode One , the second Ptikobj , and the third 10 Different Types of Soup .
Jim s Story - David s first cartoon series. As quoted from his website, The following cartoons aren t very good but it s interesting to see how the humour and style has progressed in the last 5 or so years. I was 16 when I made Jim s Story 1, and it was just made to annoy my brother (Jim) who was 12 at the time. By the time I d made episode 6, I was so sick of it I just gave up. About a year after that I made Fat-Pie episode 1. the voice acting was mainly by me and David Ellis at first with Crust making his debut in episode 3 as an old man. Even Dane (yes THE Dane) did a voice or 2. Like I said, these are crap. I ll be suprised if you enjoy them.
Locust Toybox - The Locust Toybox cartoons are a 3 part series on [http://locusttoybox.co.uk Locusttoybox.co.uk]. They are set to songs made by Firth. The songs used were Quartheen Wiles , Tufler in the Clouds , and Conversionay .

The Child That Smelt Funny - A political satire about a government that bans adverts, television, and eventually nearly everything in an effort to decrease violence.
Milkman - A music video to an Aphex Twin song. Starts off innocuously about a milkman doing his duties, but is violently killed by a psychotic killer who murders and commits necrophilia on the milkman and his wife.
Scribbler - About a man named Scribbler who always feels ill. It marks Firth s first real attempt at Flash animating. Also, unlike most of his other movies, there is no voice acting.
Valentine s Day Special - A short movie for Valentine s Day about a man who kills and eats a girl that gives him a Valentine s Day card.
Video Dating Tape - An ugly, obese woman watches a video dating tape about a man named Jake, who lives in a cupboard from which he watches children play in the park, and plays in a caravan on Sunday with a man named Morgan who gives him kisses. Jake is voiced by Finbar Mallon.
Wolf vs. Wasp - A hidden, two-frame cartoon on David s website. Basically a wolf humping a wasp.

Jerry Jackson, another Flash animator, is rumored to actually be a , and vanished five days later after writing several journals, answering a few comments and submitting movies.
Some clues to the truth behind this Jackson-Firth rumor include the fact one of Jerry s cartoons is a tribute to Salad Fingers , entitled saland figers omg , and that this cartoon was originally blammed (or voted out) from Newgrounds, only to have David Firth personally ask that it be added again.
saland figers omg was also shown in a hidden section of David Firth s website, and a link to Jerry Jackson s deviantART user page was made available on the 11th episode of Panathinaikos Bear (Firth claims on his website that he posted Jerry Jackson s Salad Fingers tribute because Jackson was somehow SPECIAL ; accompanying this statement is an e-mail allegedly from Jackson, asking Firth that his written story for Salad Fingers be produced into a movie, and ended up learning to use Macromedia Flash on his own to produce the movie himself after Firth failed to provide any response for his request).
These cartoons are also incredibly funny and very hard to believe that they were done for no other purpose besides comedy or satire. Jerry s voice sounds remarkably like Firth s as well, and the ending of Bigg Nosed Man seems more Firth than Jackson. Also, a few somewhat complex animations are scattered about a few Jackson cartoons, giving rise to suspicion that the artist has more skill than he lets on.
