Debian GNU/kFreeBSD |
Debian GNU/kFreeBSD is GNU/FreeBSD operating system made by Debian for x86-compatible computer architectures. It is a distribution of the GNU operating system with Debian package management and the FreeBSD kernel, unlike most other GNU variants that are shipped with the Linux kernel.
The Debian GNU/kFreeBSD base system is fully functional, but there still several major bugs that need to be fixed and packages that need to be ported to the system. Therefore, no official release of the operating system has been made.
It should be noted that the k in kFreeBSD refers to the fact that only the kernel of the FreeBSD operating system is used. Since FreeBSD is its own complete operating system, it is important to indicate that the kernel itself is not its own separate entity.
Debian GNU/kFreeBSD can be tried using the Ging Live-CD.
