Digital asset management (DAM) refers to the practice and domain of organizing digital files, like images, documents and presentations. The term asset is used to indicate that such files have some sort of intrinsic value that makes it worthwhile to manage them. DAM is related to and can be considered a superset of content management. For more information see also digital asset management systems and content management systems.
