Enrique Gratas is an award winning journalist and the anchor of Univision s Ultima Hora (Last Hour), the second most popular Spanish newscast in the United States. His newscast originates from Miami, Florida and it airs weekdays beginning at 11:30 PM-EST.
Gratas is is the second most famous and recognizable news anchor for Spanish TV; behind Jorge Ramos the Walter Cronkite, of Spanish broadcast news in the United States.
Gratas has covered the news as well as sports for over three decades. Gratas was born in Argentina. He came to the United States in 1971. Gratas used to anchor the news for several years in Los Angeles and later transfered to Miami, so that Univision could have a greater presence in the Spanish market.
Gratas has had excluive interviews with several world leaders. He also conducts inteviews with ordinary citizens to find out their views on paricular subjects. The main focus of Ultima Hora is Mexico, Latin America, and South America. The program is an up to the minute broadcast.
Gratas is more famous in Latin America, especially in his native Argentina. When news breaks, Gratas joins Ramos and his colleague Maria Elena Salinas for continuous coverage. The trio is well respected for its excellent Spanish coverage.
Gratas is considered the Tom Brokaw of the Spanish speaking America, he is made fun of in comedy skits for his style of presenting the news. His fame internationally is greater than that of Ramos but both wield heavy star power.

Enrique Gratas began his carrer as an Argentine radio host in 1966; a year later he became the youngest news anchor on televised news.
After moving to the United States in 1971, he worked in the sports and news departnment for KWHY-Channel 22 in Los Angeles.
In 1976 Gratas was the News Director and first news anchor of KDTV-14 San Fransico (Univision)
In 1978 he became an anchor of Los Angeles-Univision KMEX-Channel 34, he would later launch the first ever succesful Spanish sports program.
From 1981 to 1985 Enrique Gratas was the News Director of WXTV-Channel 41 in New Jersey.
From 1990-1999 Gratas was the main anchor of the Telemundo Network and host of Occurio Asi the top rated Spanish news magazine. When Gratas left for the higher rated Univision network, Pedro Sevcec took over.
In October of 1999 Gratas launches Ultima Hora on Univision, it is a huge success
