Free Culture Movement |
The Free Culture Movement is a student led movement that supports freedom of speech on the Internet and objects to overly restrictive Copyright laws, which, members of the movement argue, hinders creativity. The group is similar to other organizations in the free software movement such as Creative Commons and the EFF. The group was inspired by Larry Lessig s, Free Culture. Lessig is a law professor at Stanford University and a prominent figure in the free software movement as well as the open source movement. There are Free Culture chapters on college campuses across the United States, as well as other countries.
