The Great Hacker War was a 1990–1992 conflict between the Masters of Deception (MOD) and a faction of the older guard hacker group Legion of Doom (hacking) (LOD), where each side attempted to Hacker (computer security) the other s computers. It took place across the Internet, X.25, and telephone computer network across the world.

At the wars end, certain facts came to light such as certain LOD members resorted to becoming s in retaliation for losing the hot war of skill on the world s computer networks.
