Handle leak

Handle leak is term used in software engineering to describe a particular kind of Computer bug. A handle leak occurs when a computer program asks for a handle to a resource but forgets to free the handle. If this occurs frequently then a large number of handles may be assigned causing performance problems or a Crash (computing).

The term is derived from memory leak.
