High Performance Fortran

High Performance Fortran (HPF) is an extension of Fortran 90 with constructs that support parallel computing. It uses a SIMD model of computation to support spreading the work of a single array computation over multiple processors.

HPF s forall statement, which updates a set of array entries in parallel, has since been added to Fortran 95. It also provides directives that provide hints as to how work is to be parcelled between processors.
