In June 2002, HKBN built the largest Metro Ethernet IP network in the world, covering 1.2 million homes. As of 2005 HKBN offers its customers Broadband Internet access with the following speeds: *10 Mbit/s (bb10) for 148 HKD (approx. 15 Euro) per month, Fiber to the Building (FFTB). *100 Mbit/s (bb100) for 268 HKD (approx. 27 Euro) per month, with only 20 Mbit/s bandwidth to non-Hong Kong destinations, FTTB. *1000 Mbit/s (1 Gbit/s) (bb1000) for 1680 HKD (approx. 170 Euro) per month with only 20 Mbit/s bandwidth to non-Hong Kong destinations, FTTB and Fiber to the Home (FTTH). The installation cost is rather high, 4828 HKD for FTTB and 6828 HKD for FTTH (approx. 490 and 690 Euro respectively).
