Hurra Torpedo is a band from Norway most famous for a clip from a Norway Saturday Night Live type show called Little Saturday (tv show) in which they performed a version of the 1983 Bonnie Tyler power ballad, Total Eclipse of the Heart . The performance was filmed in 1995 and shortly afterward Hurra Torpedo split. In mid 2005 the clip was uploaded to the internet and began spreading as an internet meme. Hurra Torpedo still have reunion tours quite often.

In the clip the three members of Hurra Torpedo are on a stage surrounded by various kitchen appliances such as stoves and freezers. The three are dressed in jogging suits that don t fit them well. One member plays the guitar and sings the lyrics, another plays the rhythm of the song by hitting a stove with a stick and slamming the door of a freezer. At the climax of the song the third member (who also sings backing vocals) smashes the top of an open range gas stove with a large piece of metal on the beat of the song.
