IXOS Software GmbH is Germany high-tech company, based in Munich. Founded on February 25 1988 by Hans-Strack Zimmermann and his colleagues. The company started with custom projects, training and various Software products.

Highly commercially successful was archiving system for SAP R/3 product. Its success allowed the company to grow considerably and obtain funding from SAP AG, Intel, and venture funds.

In 1998 the company had an initial public offering. After a promising start its market value fell significantly and all company founders were fired.

In 2004 IXOS was acquired by competitor Open Text.
