Journyx was founded in 1996 to create web-based employee time tracking software for automating payroll, billing, project accounting and to some degree project management. The software is free of charge for up to 10 users. It is provided for local installation as well as via the application service provider (ASP) model. The client is a web browser and the server runs on Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris Operating Environment, AIX operating system, and any server flavor of Microsoft Windows. Database servers can be DB2, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database. Journyx Time Sheet is written primarily in Python programming language.
