LAPP

LAPP is an acronym for a set of free software programs commonly used together to run dynamic web site :

Linux, the operating system;

Apache HTTP Server, the web server;

PostgreSQL, the DBMS (or database server);

Perl, PHP, and/or Python programming language, scripting languages.

LAPP is a variation of LAMP (software bundle) with PostgreSQL instead of MySQL, and is the Linux equivalent of WAPP

The acronym has three major uses : *1 - to define a web server infrastructure that provides the services of the software the acronym defines *2 - to define a programming paradigm of developing software that relies on the software the acronym defines *3 - to define a software distribution package that encompasses the software the acronym defines
