Lanka Linux User Group |
Lanka Linux User Group, also known as LK-LUG, is the premier organization in Sri Lanka for promoting FLOSS. Since its beginnings in 1998 with 40 members, hundreds of GNU_Linux enthusiasts around the world have joined.
Members of the LK-LUG community are diverse: some use GNU/Linux at home for Multimedia, Computer games and Internet, while some others use it at work to run large scale, mission critical applications. Activities of the Group include helping each other over the Mailing_list, educating the general public by participating at exhibitions, workshops and media, and pushing the use of FOSS in national ICT programmes.
LK-LUG also is working on L10n GNU/Linux desktop to Sinhala language. The Group has made good progress in converting some major components. A Live-CD based Linux_distribution is available.
