Lev David

Lev David, (born August 8, 1980, Durban, South Africa) is a writer, radio producer/presenter, and media consultant.

Writing subversive humour for major South African newspapers since he was 15, David went on to study economics at the University of Natal (now the University of KwaZulu-Natal), before being headhunted in 2001 by regional radio giant, East Coast Radio (South Africa) to produce their breakfast show.

He resigned from East Coast Radio in 2005 to pursue other interests, Lev David is now involved in the development of television series, radio features for several radio stations, and various new media initiatives. He continues to write humour for the print media.

David has been published by the South African newspaper, the Mail & Guardian. He has also spoken on a panel of some of the most powerful people in South African radio at Africa s first international radio conference, RadioCon Africa 2004. At the time, he was only 24. David appeared alongside other top South African radio personalities on the South African version of the television gameshow, The Weakest Link in 2004.

Lev David is joint holder (along with Gary Mortimer) of the African high-altitude hot air ballooning record, reaching 30,334 feet, launching from the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. He broadcasted live to East Coast Radio during the record attempt.
