Meditech

MEDITECH; i.e., Medical Information Technology, Incorporated, was founded in 1969 by its chair and CEO Neil Pappalardo. Within MEDITECH, an early version of MUMPS evolved into a language named MIIS (MEDITECH Interpretive Information System), and a successor named MAGIC (not to be confused with a different PC database product of the same name).

MIIS is no longer actively used by the company. MAGIC is used by MEDITECH and MEDITECH partner companies including LSS Data Systems and Patient Care Technologies, Inc. The language is not marketed to outside application developers.

Based in Westwood, Massachusetts, MEDITECH is known as one of the seminal contributors to the MUMPS language.
