mpatrol is a memory handling library developed by Graeme S. Roy. It serves as a memory debugger in that it allows the programmer to detect memory access errors and memory leaks. The library replaces the calls to malloc() and free() in a C programming language program with calls to its own functions that serve as wrappers around the system calls. Functions defined by mpatrol monitor and log every program s memory access and detects possible memory access errors. mpatrol can be used under many varieties of Unix and Linux and on Microsoft Windows.
