Nectarine (radio)

Nectarine is a free 24/7 web radio station playing demoscene music, it started data stream on March 1, 2000. The radio is based in France, streaming from Paris, with several relay servers in different countries such as USA, France, Germany, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. Nectarine was founded by Christophe Le Sage, the man behind the demoscene web portal Orange Juice (website).

Following the demoscene freedom of sharing, non-commercial, spirit, Nectarine is 100% free (no commercial advertisements) web radio. The music broadcasted on Nectarine has been written since the 1980s by musicians during their leisure and is or is considered copyleft. As it is written on Nectarine website: you can in NO CIRCUMSTANCES sell this music or include any part of it in a commercial project without first gaining the permission of the author.

*Streaming server is a Pentium III 550 based computer running under Windows 2000. *Web server is P4 1.6A based, running IIS5 under Windows 2000 Server. *Web server CPU time is mostly used by the SQL-based FTP-search engine used by Orange Juice website. *The stream uses a surprisingly reliable broadband connection from Poliris [http://www.poliris.com] *Streaming is made through Nectastream system v2.0.
