Planner (project management)

Planner is a project management tool for the GNOME desktop, previously named MrProject . Planner is part of the GNOME office suite. It is used for project management and uses Gantt charts to display how project activities commingle and depend on each other.

Planner uses an XML file format or PostgreSQL database to store the project details and is written in C programming language. The current developers of Planner include the original developers who now work for Imendio [http://www.imendio.com/].

The name of the tool changed since the company that had sponsored Mr. Project went out of business. Some of the same developers continued support, but changed the tool s name.
