Radio Scotland

This article refers to Radio Scotland the former offshore pirate radio station. You may be looking for the current Scotland radio station BBC Radio Scotland.

Radio Scotland was an offshore pirate radio station broadcasting on 242 metres in the AM broadcasting, created by Tommy Shields in 1965. The station was located on board the former lightship Comet which was anchored at various locations off the Scotland coastline within international waters. During one of its many anchorages off the west coast of Scotland the station became known as Radio Scotland and Ireland. The station closed down on August 14, 1967 when legislation against offshore radio came into force.
