Rc shell

The rc shell is the command line interface for the Version 10 Unix and Plan 9 (operating system) operating systems. It resembles the Bourne shell, though its syntax is somewhat simplified. It was created by Tom Duff, who is better known for an unusual C programming language construct called [http://catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/D/Duffs-device.html Duff s Device].

A a rewrite of rc for Unix by Byron Rakitzis is also available but includes some incompatible changes. A port of the original rc to Unix is part of Plan 9 from User Space
