=Company History=

Remedy corp was founded in 1990 by Larry Garlick, who was the Chief Executive Officer until 2001. The company went public in 1995 and was sold to competitor Peregrine Systems in 2001. Accounting scandals of 2002 forced Peregrine Systems into bankruptcy and they sold the untainted Remedy business unit to BMC Software in November of 2002. Remedy was then known as Remedy, a BMC Software Company until 2004, when it became known as the Service Management Business Unit .
