Rotating disc computer storage media

This category revolves around various types of rotation disk computer storage media (disambiguation). The discs may be permanently attached to, or removable media from, the computer. For large computer systems such as mainframe computers and server farms, the discs may be connected to a network-attached storage, and thus may be situated physically distant from the computers they serve. In the latter setup, rotating discs tends to replace some tape storage systems (although tape storage is as of 2004 less expensive per data unit stored).
