Skencil

Skencil, formerly called Sketch, is a Vector graphics editor, released under the GNU Lesser General Public License. Its first public version, Sketch 0.5.0, was released on October 31, 1998.

As claimed on its website, Skencil is implemented almost completely in Python programming language, a very high-level, object oriented, interpreted language, with the rest written in C programming language for speed.

The software is now in version 0.6.16. It has versions compatible with GNU/Linux on the Intel 80386, DEC Alpha, 68k, PowerPC and SPARC architectures, with FreeBSD, with Solaris Operating Environment 2.5.1, 2.6, 2.7, with IRIX64 6.4, and with AIX operating system.

Developers are currently working on port to GIMP Toolkit, a multiple document interface, and multi-font, fully integrated multiline text. [http://www.nongnu.org/skencil/devel.html]
