SmealSearch |
SmealSearch is a web portal and search engine based on the CiteSeer digital library and search engine technology created by researchers Steve Lawrence (computer scientist), Kurt Bollacker and Lee Giles while they were at the NEC Research Institute (now NEC Labs), Princeton, NJ, USA. It has been enhanced and modified by Lee Giles, Arvind Rangaswamy, Nirmal Pal, Sandip Debnath, Yves Petinot and Pradeep Teregowda who are or have been affiliated with the eBusiness Research Center at Pennsylvania State University.
SmealSearch intelligently crawls and harvests academic business documents on the web and uses autonomous citation indexing to permit querying by citation or by document. Currently, it is publically available on the World Wide Web at the Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University, and has over 150,000 documents, primarily in the fields of Business, e-business and related areas. The goal is to have the document collection continuously grow. SmealSearch also harvests business school information from the web and is currently creating a large database of business schools from around the world. SmealSearch s goals are to assist students, professors, researchers and other academics with business related research and other information needs.
