Star Wars Wiki, informally known as Wookieepedia, is a Wikicities that was started on March 4, 2005. The purpose of this Wiki is to be a primary source for information on the Star Wars saga, including the Expanded Universe (Star Wars). It was the most visited Wikicity as of July, 2005.

Star Wars Wiki s first editors were mostly ) are almost always transferred to Star Wars Wiki, assuming they do not already have an article there already. In addition, certain sections of articles which had to remain out-of-universe to identify them as Star Wars articles on Wikipedia, were wookified to fit the in-universe perspective of the wiki (i.e. removing such text as was a character in the Star Wars saga , etc). However, other sections of the wiki cover actors, artists, real-life companies, and culture in an out-of-universe perspective. Since then many more changes to its Manual of Style have been made.

As of October 14, 2005, the wiki contains over 14,500 articles, not including stubs, making it larger (in terms of number of articles) than Memory Alpha, the Star Trek wiki.
