Steven T. Jürvetson (born in Arizona, USA, 1967) is a Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. He was the founding Venture capital investor in Hotmail, Interwoven, and Kana. He also led the firm s investments in Tradex and Cyras (acquired by Ariba and Ciena, respectively) and, more recently, in Skype (acquired by EBay in September 2005). DFJ holds investments in a number of other businesses.
After graduating from St. Mark s School of Texas in Dallas, Jurvetson graduated first in his class at Stanford University in 1988. He then earned an M.S. in electrical engineering and an M.B.A., also from Stanford.
Jürvetson is a son of ethnic Estonians refugees, who escaped from Estonia during World War II.|
