TOMY Co., Ltd. () was founded in 1924. The company has many relations with the worlds biggest companies to make toys for infants and pre-schoolers. The company also makes merchandise for many well known cartoons and tv-shows. Some clients are The Walt Disney Company and TV Tokyo.
Tomy purchased Japanese toy giant Takara on May 13, 2005. Under the terms of the merger, Takara was dissolved and all its lines came under Tomy s control. At this stage, it is unclear what Takara lines will be continued by Tomy, if any.
