Tales for the L33t

Tales for the L33t is a twelve-minute Macromedia Flash movie created by Chris Coutts in 1999. It is an extremely crude adaptation (deliberately so) of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , performed by stick figures who speak grotesquely simplified l33t versions of their original dialogue. As well, the play has been greatly abridged (as stated in the prologue, OMFG THIS THING IS 2 HOURS LONG, SCREW U I QUYTI ( sic (Latin) ). Nevertheless, the overall plot remains faithful to the 17-century version.

As of 2005, the file romjul.swf is mirror siteed in over one thousand locations online.

Coutts has since produced a l33t version of Hamlet , which is of lesser popularity.
