Technosoft was a Japanese video game developer that is most well known for the Thunderforce series of shooters for the Sega Genesis/Megadrive. Their initial title was developed for the Japanese Sharp X-1, with later ones for the Sega Genesis, Sony Playstation, and Sega Saturn.
Other notable Technosoft games for the Sega Genesis include Herzog Zwei , regarded as the world s first real time strategy game, the Genesis conversion of the Turbo Grafx 16 game Devil s Crush, dubbed Dragon s Fury and released in North America by Tengen, and Elemental Master .
Some of the company s releases spell the company name Tecnosoft, with no h.
In 2001 the company was purchased by pachinko maker Twenty-one Company and was folded into its research and development division, ceasing to exist.
