A United States company that achieved its peak of success in the early 1980s producing computer terminals, Televideo also built CP/M-compatible 8-bit desktop and portable personal computers based on the Z80 processor. In 1983 Televideo introduced an MS-DOS compatible personal computer based on the Intel 8088. As of 2005, the company is still in existence as a publicly-held corporation specializing in building Microsoft Windows compatible thin clients for networked computer systems.
Televideo may also refer to interactive two-way television used for instructional or conferencing purposes. In Italy Televideo is the common name for the Teletext service.
