The Last Ninja |
The Last Ninja is a series of the third game in the series, Last Ninja 3, The: Real Hatred is Timeless .
Generally, the games had been made with Commodore 64 platform as the first priority, and all other platforms got less attention (sometimes the porters couldn t even get C64 version s data to work with, and had to reconstruct the entire thing from scratch).
Versions of The Last Ninja for the BBC Micro, Acorn Electron, and Acorn Archimedes/RISC OS computers were published by Superior Software.
The protagonist of the game is called Armakuni, who is the sole survivor of his ninja clan that was destroyed by evil shogun Kunitoki, who dabbles in unnatural arts and comes back from dead, and is the final adversary in each of the three games.
The gameplay in the games consists of fighting, exploration, and puzzle-solving. Movement and fighting is done on the joystick, and the keyboard is used to select items and weapons that you have acquired. Items can be picked up by crouching, and are usually used by crouching while holding the object. Most of the puzzles are item-finding ones or precision-jumping puzzles.

A fourth game has been under development for a long time; It was originally supposed to be released in 2003, but it has been delayed. The game has also been said to be cancelled at least twice, only to return to development, and the development company (still System 3, nowadays called Studio 5) does not seem to give much information in regards to the development status.
