UK Web Archiving Consortium (UKWAC) |
The archive of UKWAC marks the first systematic attempt to create an archive of social, historic and culturally significant web material from the UK domain.
UKWAC consists of the British Library, the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), the National Archives (UK), the National Library of Wales, the National Library of Scotland, and the Wellcome Trust. Each consortium member selects and archives sites relevant to their subject interests.
As of May 2005 the project contains approximately 300 titles and over 1000 individual web sites.
UKWAC is using the Pandora Archive software developed by the National Library of Australia.
