VMac

vMac is a Macintosh Plus emulator for the Apple Macintosh platform, Microsoft Windows, BeOS, NeXT and other platforms. vMac intends to emulate a Macintosh Plus and the Mac OS it ran (Versions 1.1 to 7.5). vMac supports display output, sound, floppy disk insert, display resolution changing and more. The vMac port (computing) for the Macintosh by Richard Bannister is discontinued and no longer in development. The spin off Mini vMac is still being maintained and developed.

vMac requires a Macintosh Plus ROM file and Macintosh system software to work. Macintosh ROM files are owned by Apple Computer and cannot be distributed even by asking Apple permission. Macintosh system software is available from Apple s Support Downloads Website at http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html
