Westnet is a Perth, Western Australia based nationwide Australian internet service provider providing ADSL, Dial-up_access, telephony and related Internet services.

=History=

Westnet was founded in 1994 by Chris Thomas in Geraldton, Western Australia as a Geraldton-wide web and e-mail service, allowing anyone in the area to start learning the technology. In August 1995 a link to Perth was established, connecting Westnet users to the Internet.

The company was acquired by Mitchell & Brown Communications in November 1996, and relocated to Perth, Western Australia, Western Australia in 1999.

Westnet s nationwide rollout of ADSL services was completed when the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania were enabled on September 6, 2005.
