  • =Structure=

Computer science topics might be structured via an Audience analysis schema of some sort. We re going to try to come up with a table that is transcluded into all the articles in the Computer science reference. For example, a person with only a passing interest may not be interested in Library_(computer_science) but may be intered in lexicon or programming language.

How Computer science is viewed by a layman is probably vastly divergent from what is studied academically by Comp-Sci post grads. I suppose Project2501s discussions so far with me have been laced with comments like That s not Comp-Sci! I think that proves my point. I thought Comp-Sci Historically was... to be continued on [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Computer_science talk page]

Anyways, I m going to push for this table :-p

    =Hierarchy definition=

The Computer science reference or and branch out to a vast array of subtopics:

Encyclopedic: # Discover and classify ALL Computer science articles into an organized reference (ambitious) # Improve existing articles, split, merge, delete, create as needed to build a useful body of knowlege Community: # Help build up a Community of interest around computer science with opportunities for diverse skill levels and special interests # Encourage and mentor Wikipedians who want to learn more and increase skills # Help channel creative energy to useful ends MediaWiki & Wikipedia: # Help in documenting Mediawiki code for a variety of readers and users from a CS perspective # Help in testing and implementation of current and new mediawiki versions # Help in research, design, and documentation of new ideas through applied computer science

NOTE: These goals are only tentative, pending further participation by you and others. Please join the project!

    =Adopt an article=

Similar to the , but on a smaller scale, you might want to adopt an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.

  • 60% or so - need some help!
  • 2% have a basic idea
  • QNX - add some architecture stuff
  • History of computing - plow this
  • SIGPLAN
