XOOM was a free web hosting company, similar to GeoCities.

XOOM originated around 1997 as a download website. Around 1998, XOOM became a web hosting and an E-mail hosting website. In 2000, XOOM was acquired by NBCi, a website owned by NBC. NBCi later discontinued website hosting in late 2001. The domain xoom.com is now held by a money transfer website.

XOOM was often criticized for its harsh policies on violations of terms of service.
