Xpdf

In Computing, Xpdf is an open source PDF viewer for the X Window System, running under Unix and Unix-like systems such as Linux, OpenVMS, and OS/2. It is free in both senses, costing no money and being licensed under the GNU General Public License. As of version 2.0, it includes an LZW decoder.

Xpdf is included in many Linux distributions.

Xpdf is also used as a backend for other PDF reader frontends such as KPDF, and its engine, sans the X11 display components, is used for PDF viewers including BePDF on BeOS and !PDF on RISCOS.

Xpdf includes a program, pdfimages, that extracts images from PDF files.
